Welcome to the State of Iowa Okta Identity and Access Management Tool
Okta is the single sign-on (SSO) VPN authentication method for the State of Iowa. With its proven security measures, Okta is a safe and secure way to log into multiple applications across the state without having to maintain separate passwords.
Authenticators add additional layers of security to your account. There are several methods to choose from.
What is Single Sign-On?
Single sign-on (SSO) allows users to log in using a single ID and password to access several software systems without re-entering their authentication factors each time.
What is Multi-Factor Authentication?
Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) is an electronic authentication method that requires additional layers of validation to access network applications and resources. You may have experienced this when your bank texts you a number to continue to log into your account. For much of the State of Iowa enterprise, MFA is used for VPN login authentication.
Why Multi-Factor Authentication?
The State of Iowa is moving towards a Zero Trust security model with Okta MFA. This brings increased security rooted in the principle of never trust, always verify.
